About the Author
Born and raised in the rugged Black Hills of South Dakota, MJ Witt has led an adventurous life, embracing roles as a wilderness outfitter, horse trainer, SCUBA diving instructor, casino worker in historic Deadwood, and even a dolphin trainer for the U.S. Navy. These diverse experiences have enriched his storytelling, infusing his narratives with authenticity and vivid realism.
A lifelong lover of books, MJ’s passion for storytelling naturally evolved into a new adventure: writing. Influenced by literary icons like Robert Heinlein and Louis L’Amour, he crafts stories that reflect his deep appreciation for compelling narratives. Growing up in rural America, where “prepping” was simply a way of life, MJ developed a profound connection to the wilderness through camping and exploring untamed landscapes. This upbringing made writing in the post-apocalyptic genre for his first books a seamless choice, as he strives to infuse his tales with authenticity and a sense of possibility.
After completing his post-apocalyptic debut series, Vashon Island Fall, MJ is now launching the high-octane MacKay’s Justice series. Living with his wife and child in the Pacific Northwest, he balances his time between managing their farm—caring for horses and other animals—and traveling the world, always seeking new experiences and the next horizon to explore.
